A new Story

Tom Biffy Flair Durkin Bridget Mary Durkin born Bridget Mary Marley on the 31/05/63 sadly passed away at 21:25 last night. She was heavily medicated and went peacefully and calmly in no distress. She was diagnosed with Lung, brain and spine cancer only in June which shows just how aggressive the cancer she had was. For anybody who knew my mum well, this will come as no surprise but she fought the cancer until her very last breath with incredible dignity and bravery and as I always am I've been so proud of her. My mum was the bravest, most selfless and kindhearted person you could wish to meet who always carried herself with elegance and grace. Also tremendously stubborn with a wickedly dry sense of humour. Always willing to do whatever she could to help others and so much so that she never really did end up looking after herself sadly. That being said she was fiercely loyal and straight talking. What you saw was what you got with my mum. My mum did so much for me and although I could never hold a candle to her I will always try my utmost to adhere to the standards, morals and values she brought me up with and try my best to make her as proud of me as I always was of her. I'd like to thank all of the staff at Domus Healthcare for their help and support, my mum loved all of those guys and they did a wonderful job providing the care that my mum needed that I couldn't offer her, without those guys I don't know how I would have managed. No more fighting, rest easy girl. I'll miss you so much I love you mum xxx
